Bandits kill one, kidnap seven women in Kaduna

Bandits on Thursday kidnapped eight persons and killed one person in Banono settlement under Angwaku community, Kufana Chiefdom in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Stephen Makori, the Kufana Kaduna District Superintendent, confirmed the incident.

He said the bandits raided houses, looted valuable property, stole money, food items and two motorcycles.

According to him, a man, Christopher Zamani, was killed in the attack while a woman sustained a bullet wound.

He named the abducted victims as: Tina Bulus, Alice Joshua, Sarah Micah, Kaduna Fidelis (male), Janet Amos, Martha Peter, Rita Geoffrey and Favour Ado, adding that Mary Isah, who sustained injuries, was taken to Nasara Maternity Clinic in Maraban Kajuru for medical attention.

Meanwhile, 24 of the abducted villagers from Budah community in the same local government, who were kidnapped on Monday, have returned home.

A resident of Tla, Benjamin Yuhana, said they returned home without paying any ransom to the bandits. He said others were still in captivity.
