Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has named three players he expects to be contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or prize.
Writing in The Overlap newsletter, Neville listed Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Phil Foden.
The three England stars were all included in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season released on Monday.
According to Neville, only France can stand head-to-head with their calibre of attacking players.
He said: “The UEFA team of the season was released on Monday made up of the best players in the Champions League in 2023-24 and Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Harry Kane were all in it.
“All three of those will be Ballon d’Or contenders at the end of the year. Only France, with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann, have comparable attacking talent to England right now.”
