Members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, have expressed their joy over the sack of Emeka Nnamani of the Labour Party from the House of Representatives by the Court of Appeal.
The Appeal Court in its ruling, on Thursday, upheld the verdict of the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Umuahia, which sacked Nnamani from the green chamber, for allegedly forging his academic records in September.
The Court declared the respondent in the appeal case, Mascot Ikwuechegh of the APGA, winner of the February 25 election for Aba North and Aba South Federal constituency and dismissed the prayers brought by Emeka Nnamani of the Labour Party for lacking in merit.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in February, declared Emeka Nnamani of the LP, winner of the Aba North/Aba South election, claiming he scored 35,502 votes to defeat Alex Mascot Ikwuechegh of the APGA.
