Ancelotti overtakes Alex Ferguson, breaks Champions League record after Real Madrid’s victory

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti on Wednesday broke UEFA Champions League record after his team’s 3-0 win over Braga.

Goals from Brahim Diaz, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, gave Real Madrid the victory over Braga at Santiago Bernabeu.

The victory over Braga means Ancelotti’s side have now qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The win over Braga was Ancelott’s 116th in the Champions League, breaking the record for most wins by a coach in the competition.

As per Relevo, the record has previously been joint-held by Ancelotti and legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who both had 115.

However, with Real Madrid’s victory over Braga, Ancelotti now holds the record outright.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti won the Champions League with Real Madrid two seasons ago.

The Italian is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season when his contract expires.
