The Chairman of Coscharis Group, Dr Cosmas Maduka, has opened up on the alleged rift between him and Anambra South senator, Ifeanyi Ubah.
In a video circulating on the internet, Maduka was seen claiming that Ubah was indebted to him.
However, amid reports of the rift between the two individuals, during the burial of the mother of a former member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Benchuks Nwosu, in Nnewi, Maduka and Ubah walked into the arena together.
Speaking with journalists at the event, Maduka said, “This (video) is something that happened more than 11 to 12 years ago. I have gotten calls from US and other parts of the world about people asking me what was happening between me and my brother Ifeanyi, as if it is something that happened just yesterday.
“We have been friends and brothers, we have put that behind us, and we speak everyday. He has asked me for favours and I have asked him for favours too.
“Just yesterday I called him and asked him for something which he just did for me today.
“He was at my wife’s funeral and he ate in my place and I eat in his place.”
Ubah, who also spoke to journalists, said: “It is good that Maduka has cleared the air by himself. People should learn to respect our privacy and mind their businesses. People should stop looking for trouble where there is none.
“Let us get ourselves engaged with activities that will better the lives of people and make our dear country a better place instead of dwelling in the past and distracting ourselves with issues that do not exist.”
Ubah had accused his political detractors of digging up an old video to cause distraction in the polity.
The senator recently declared his intention to contest the governorship election in Anambra State.
