Alia appoints DG BPP, constitutes board of state-owned tertiary institutions

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia has approved the appointment of Director-General of Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, as well as members of boards of state owned tertiary institutions.

A statement signed on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula said the appointments took immediate effect.

Dr. Akwonya Adadu, a lecturer with the Benue State University, Makurdi, was appointed as Director General of BPP.

Those appointed for council members of Benue State-owned tertiary institutions are as follows:
Benue State University – Sir Paul Chukwuma—Chairman/Pro-chancellor,Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo – Dr. Demian Anyam – Chairman, College of Education, Oju – Prof. Member George-Genyi and College of Education, Katsina-ala – Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti – Chairman

Others are: Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi – Prof. Okpe O Okpe – Chairman, Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev – Dr. Victoria Pila – Chairman and College of Health Technology, Agasha – Dr. Bem Vangerwua – Chairman.

Kula said Governor Alia believed the appointed individuals who were carefully selected based on their records of service and wealth of experience would deliver and make the tertiary institutions top-notch in the country once more.

“He charges them to permanently put the interest of the state first in all their official engagements.

“He congratulates and wishes the new appointees a fruitful stay in the office,” Kula said.
