Akwa United caretaker coach, Umar Abdullahi has expressed optimism in the new players signed by the club during the mid-season transfer.
Abdullahi opined that the players will help improve the club’s performance as they aim to end the season on a strong footing.
The Promise Keepers fortified their team with seven new signings with former captain Ubong Friday at the top of the list.
Others are, Mustapha Dan-Azumi from Gombe United, Suleiman Sani joined from Wikki Tourists, Daniel Japhet arrived from EFCC, while Damilare Shodipo linked up with the club from Stormers FC.
Akwa United will be in action against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.
The Promise Keepers currently occupy 16th position on the NPFL table.
