Governor Umo Eno has reiterated his commitment to run a very transparent and accountable governance where citizens will be briefed from time to time on the visible projects executed by his administration.
Governor Eno made this known yesterday when he hosted members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, media stakeholders, and the Conference of Online Publishers at a media briefing to mark his one year in office.
While answering questions from journalists, the Governor said, “I don’t know how to sugarcoat words or cover up things; I will say things the way they are. We won’t claim to have finished any project that is still under construction, and every project will be closely supervised and executed.”
“We are spreading development across the state. These projects are visible and are at various stages of completion.”
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Amos Etuk, thanked the Governor for giving the government a human face and assured him of collaboration as the watchdog of society.
The media briefing was attended by the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, the Commissioner for Information, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, heads of radio and TV stations, media stakeholders, and members of the Conference of Online Publishers led by the Chancellor, Mr. Utitofon Morgan.
