Akwa Ibom: Gov. Eno donates plots of Land to COOPA

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has donated plots of land to
Coalition of Online Publishers, an arm of the media community in Akwa Ibom State.

Making the presentation through the Commissioner for Information, Mr Ini Ememobong in a Get-together to mark the Yuletide, the governor commended members of the media community for continuous support, appealing for more of such support in 2025.

The Governor said that despite the ‘economic turbulence’, the state as an entity of the Nigerian State has done well through infrastructural development, payment of gratuities and pensions, empowering entrepreneurs and starts up, building roads, primary health centers, model schools, water facilities and other life-touching projects.

The Governor said that as agenda setters and information relying systems, the media has a major role to play in information dissemination.

He appealed for a stronger working relationship in 2025, while promising to help train media practitioners to meet up with modern demand in media practice in 2025.

Speaking earlier, The chancellor of COOPA, Mr Utitofon Morgan Ukpong commended the Governor for his belief in young people and assigning to them tasks as a test of their capability. He thanked the Governor for frequent payment of gratuities and pensions, assuring of partnering more with the government of Governor Umo Eno towards the actualisation of the Governor’s ARISE Agenda.

The event had in attendance members of the organisation, Directors in the Ministry of Information, NUJ Chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk and other top government officials.
