Again, taskforce raids illegal mining site in Taraba

The special task force committee, led by its chairman, General (rtd) Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa, has again raided a notorious mining site in Taraba State.

The site, which is located in Akwana village of Wukari Local Government Council, was earlier raided during which no fewer than seven trucks loaded with precious stones were confiscated.

In an interview with newsmen on Wednesday, in Wukari, the chairman of the taskforce decried the activities of illegal miners in the area.

He assured that he would do everything humanly possible to tame the activities of illegal miners, saying that Governor Agbu Kefas administration cannot be frustrated by any enemy of the State.

The chairman added that revenue generation was intentionally downplayed because of selfish interests, calling for a change of attitude.

He averred that the state governor’s agenda was geared towards developing the state, insisting that the right thing must be done for the state to move forward.

He said he would not sit and watch bad elements destroy Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration.
