Angola midfielder, Manuel Cafumana says the Palancas Negras are not afraid of the Super Eagles’ pedigree on the continent.
The Palancas Negras have surpassed expectations by getting to the quarter-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
This is the third time the South African nation will be playing in the last eight of the competition.
Three-time champions Nigeria have some of the best players on the continent.
The Super Eagles are also pundits’ favourites to make it to the semi-final.
Cafumana, who plays for Israeli club, Maccabi Haifa, is however confident Pedro Goncalves’ side can upset the Super Eagles.
“They are one of the best teams on the continent. They are also one of the past winners and are hungry to win the competition,” the 24-year-old told a press conference at the Palacais de la culture, Trechville, Abidjan, on Thursday.
“We are not afraid of them though. It is going to be 11 players going against another 11 players.
“We have prepared well for this game. We want to make our families and nation proud.”
