Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh, has told the Super Eagles that Nigerians are too eager to have them win their matches at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.

Enoh also urged Jose Peseiro’s men to forget about social media for now as they prepare to take on Cameroon in the AFCON last-16 on Saturday.

The Minister spoke during a Zoom meeting with the Super Eagles players and coaches on Wednesday.

“Please listen to the coach [Jose Peseiro]. Don’t lose focus, let your eyes remain on the ball. I will further suggest that at a moment like this forget about social media. Don’t even look at your WhatsApp messages anymore so that you don’t lose concentration. You are going to find a lot of comments by Nigerians that are too eager to have you continue to win,” Enoh said.
