Spanish La Liga club, Cádiz, have sent a message to wish Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali a quick recovery ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, round of 16 tie with Angola on Friday.
Cádiz also hailed Nwabali for his performances at the AFCON, labeling the Chippa United star as ‘GOAT’.
Recall that Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro decided to name Nwabali as his first choice ahead of Francis Uzoho at the start of the tournament.
Nwabali sustained an injury during Nigeria’s AFCON last-16 win against Cameroon.
The 27-year-old was replaced by Uzoho after he was taken off in the 80th minute for a suspected knee injury after colliding with Cameroonian attacker Georges-Kévin N’Koudou.
“All the luck in the world for GOAT Nwabali to be recovered for Nigeria’s next round in AFCON,” the official account of Cádiz Club de Fútbol in Nigeria tweeted over the weekend.
