The interim head coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen, has hailed Victor Boniface’s performance in their 1-0 win over Libya on Friday.
Nigeria pulled off a narrow victory over the North Africans in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The only goal of the encounter was scored by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in the dying minutes.
Boniface, who started upfront in place of the injured Victor Osimhen, again failed to impress in the green and white.
Speaking after the game, Eguavoen said: “Boniface needs to make quick decisions, I think he will start scoring soon.”
The Bayer Leverkusen man is expected to start in the return leg in three days.
