Nigeria midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf hopes he can return to full training in the next few days, reports DAILY POST.
Yusuf was Super Eagles’ standout player in their opening fixture against Equatorial Guinea at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 23-year-old has not trained fully with his teammates after sustaining an injury in the game.
The Royal Antwerp star missed Nigeria’s 1-0 victory against hosts Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday
Yusuf is already ruled out of Jose Peseiro’s side’s upcoming fixture against Guinea-Bissau.
The talented midfielder is, however, upbeat he will be back in training soon.
“I suffered a contusion of the thigh muscles, but the recovery is going well,” he told reporters in Abidjan.
“I hope in two, three days I will resume training.”
“I won’t rush to return because the team are doing well, they beat host nation Cote d’Ivoire,” he reasoned.
