AFCON 2023: Why I’ll be in Super Eagles camp – Enyeama clears air on ‘new role’

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has addressed rumours that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has given him appointment as a backroom staff ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The speculations began after Enyeama made a post on social media last week, writing “Let’s gooooo. See you in camp. Time for business.”

It also let to talk among fans that the 41-year-old would be a goalkeeper trainer.

However, Enyeama has now confirmed he will only visit Jose Peseiro’s team and his comments were personal.

“I haven’t been given any appointment by the NFF, neither was there any such discussion. That was only a personal comment, meaning I will visit them in camp when I attend the AFCON.

“Any opportunity to encourage the lads, I use it,” Enyeama said according to G.O.A.T.
