Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has said a 1-0 victory will be enough for his side to get past the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Peseiro’s side was guilty of wasting several scoring chances in their three group-stage games at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles scraped through the group stage scoring two goals, one from open play.
Much was expected from the team going by the array of attacking talents at the gaffer’s disposal.
The Super Eagles will now need to up their performance with the competition now at the knockout stage.
“At least one goal, we’ll attack well and defend together, you do that and we win,” the former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach said at a pre-match press briefing.
“I have studied many of the matches between both teams but our objective is to win the match.”
The winner of the Round of 16 tie will face either Angola or Namibia in the quarter-final.
