The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire booked their place in the semi-final of the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday after they defeated Mali 2-1 in the quarter-final tie at the Stade Bouaké.
N. Dorgeles put Mali in front in the 71st minute.
However, S. Adingra scored a late goal to force the game into extra time.
But a late 120th-minute goal from O. Diakite ensured the host nation defeated Mali and avoided a penalty shoot-out.
Both teams received one red card each during the encounter.
Cote d’Ivoire, the host of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, will now face DR Congo in the last four on Wednesday.
Congo defeated Guinea 3-1 in a last 16 tie on Friday.
