Cyriel Dessers is keen to make Nigeria’s final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Rangers forward is already part of the 41-man provisional squad sent by head coach Jose Peseiro to CAF.
Peseiro has until January 3, 2024, to submit his final list for the competition.
Dessers has featured three times since Peseiro took charge of the Super Eagles.
The striker’s last appearance was in a friendly against Algeria last year.
The 28-year-old is, however, hopeful of gate-crashing the Super Eagles squad for Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
“That would be an honour, that is for sure. To be in the squad for a nation like Nigeria to go to a big tournament but at this moment, I am not focusing on that,” Dessers told reporters ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership clash against Celtic.
Dessers has scored once in four appearances for the three-time African champions.
