Premier League club, Brentford have celebrated their Nigerian import, Frank Onyeka, following his historic feat at the just concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Onyeka became the first Brentford player to feature in the final of a major tournament after his appearance in Nigeria’s final defeat to hosts, Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday night.
The defensive midfielder started all of the Super Eagles seven games in the competition.
Brentford celebrated the remarkable feat on their official X handle.
“Frank Onyeka – the first Brentford player ever to feature in a major tournament final

,” reads the short message.
The player is expected to return to the club this week.
