Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has backed the duo of Amas Obasogie and Kayode Bankole to break the record for the most clean sheets in a single season in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Adeyinka holds the record for most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in a single season in the NPFL.
The shot stopper kept 16 clean sheets during the 2020/21 season.
Bendel Insurance’s Obasogie and Remo Stars’, Bankole are tied on 13 clean sheets in the current campaign.
“It’s truly an honor to have achieved that feat back in 2020/2021,” he told Lodgexpress.
“Breaking Suraj Ayeloso’s record was a proud moment for me, and it’s something I’ll always cherish in my career.
“As for both Kayode Bankole and Amas Obasogie, they are talented goalkeepers, and I have immense respect for their abilities.
“It’s not an easy task to keep clean sheets consistently in the NPFL, so to see them perform at such a high level is commendable.
“As for their chances of breaking my record, anything is possible in football. Records are made to be broken, and if they continue their impressive form, they certainly have a good chance of surpassing it.”
