Adamawa: Gov Fintiri appoints 13 new perm secs from 64 applicants

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has appointed 13 new permanent secretaries.

Announcing the appointees on Friday, Fintiri said they are required to fill existing vacancies in the state civil service.

He said the appointments came after the success of the new appointees in a qualifying examination conducted by Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, ASCON, in which 64 candidates participated.

Those appointed include Mundi Musa Ibrahim from Guyuk Locsl Government Area; Adama Mamman, Hong; Dogara Musa, Hong; Fabian Wambai, Jada; Oliver Gani, Lamurde; Abubakar Umar, Maiha; and Zira Bubanani Mathias, Michika.

The others are Kwaji Duguri, Michika; Ruth Huram, Michika; Makallan Akila, Song; Tanimu Buba, Yola North; Heidi Edgar Amos, Yola South and Muhammad Amin Suleiman, Yola South.

Speaking earlier before announcing the exam results, Governor Fintiri said the conduct of the exam was a policy trust of the government to strengthen service delivery.

He added that the permanent secretaries appointment exam conducted by the external body, ASCON, is the surest way towards promoting effectiveness in the system to curb nepotism in the appointment of permanent secretaries.

The state Head of Service, Isah Shehu Ardo, revealed that over 100 senior staff showed interest, out of which 64 who were found eligible sat for the exam, conducted in November 2023.
