Abia Warriors get trio boost for Rangers clash

Abia Warriors’ Ifeanyi Anaemena and Peter Ijeh are set to be fit for the Oriental derby with Rangers, DAILY POST reports.

The duo had a groin strain after Abia Warriors’ last match against Rivers United.

According to reports, both players are winning the race against time to be fit for the Ochendo Boys crunch tie against Rangers.

The duo returned to training on Friday ahead of the team’s matchday 10 encounter against the Coal City outfit.

Midfielder, Monday Yakubu makes a timely return to the team after overcoming a knee injury which he picked up during the team’s preparation for the new season.

The versatile midfielder is in line to be selected for the game.

Erasmus Onu’s side will play host to Rangers at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The Pride of Abia will look to repeat last season’s performance against the Flying Antelopes whom they beat Rangers 2-1.

Abia Warriors currently occupy 11th position on the table with 12 points.
