Abia State Governor, Alex Otti says his administration has resolved to rejig the security architecture of the State, aimed at smoking out criminals and stopping their attacks in the State.
Addressing the press after an emergency security council meeting in response to the recent attacks on security personnel in the State, Governor Otti said that they have taken a decision to smoke out criminal elements from their hiding places in the State.
He announced that the State would no longer be safe for kidnappers or other forms of bandits.
“We have also agreed to redouble our efforts in various areas where there are possibilities of attacks”, Otti said.
The Governor, who reassured the residents and visitors to the State that his administration is more than competent to deal with security challenges, as well as protect them, urged them not to be afraid.
He commiserated with the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police on the unfortunate incidents and attack on their men at Ekenobizi, Ubakala and Ohafia and assured that such would not repeat itself.
He added that he would visit the families of the deceased.
The security meeting was attended by Service Commanders in Abia State, including those of the Nigeria Army, Navy, Police, DSS, NSCDC, Nigeria Correctional Services, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Chairman of Abia State Council of traditional rulers, among others.
