Abductors of Ekiti pupils, teachers demand N100m ransom

Abductors of Ekiti pupils and teachers from the Apostolic school in Emure-Ekiti have demanded N100m for the release of the victims.

The incident occurred when a group of gunmen seized a school bus from the Apostolic school in Emure, kidnapping several pupils, their head teacher and a driver.

The school bus was seized at around 5:00pm on Monday while returning from school.

Reports said the victims were taken into a forest while the kidnappers have continued to threaten harm to the victims if ransom was not raised quickly.

This has caused confusion and apprehension among the community.

The parents have appealed to the state and federal governments, as well as security agencies, to ensure the safe return of their children.

This abduction occurred on the same day that gunmen killed two traditional rulers in the Oke-Ako axis of the Ikole Local Government Area of the state.

Meanwhile, sources said the kidnappers made the contact on Tuesday evening
