The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Federal Capital Territory Command, CC Olusola Odumosu, has decorated newly promoted officers at the Command’s headquarters in Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja.
He charged the newly promoted and decorated officers to display more loyalty, commitment and dedication to service as justification for their promotion.
This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by ASC Okomanyi Comfort, CDPRO, FCT Command.
According to the statement, CC Olusola advised the decorated officers to “Be focused, committed, and dedicated to duty because you are all indebted to the country, the Commandant General, and the Minister of Interior.
“This is the first time to have over 21,000 staff of the Corps promoted in such an unprecedented large number.
“We are lucky to have a CG with a listening ear. Therefore, this promotion is a reward for hard work and for you to know that when you do your part, the management will do theirs.
“For those of you who wrote the exam and couldn’t make it this time. I say to you don’t be discouraged. You have not been forgotten. Continue to be steadfast, committed to duty and I know that the next promotion will not pass you by,” Odumosu said.
While thanking the media and heads of departments in the Command for their support in 2023, Odumosu reiterated that the event was also meant for interaction with personnel on how to serve them better.
The Commandant also recognised and presented both letters of commendation and gifts for some best-performing officers and men in the outgoing year.
Out of the promoted officers, five senior officers were promoted from Assistant Commandant to Deputy Commandant in the FCT Command, while over 20 officers were promoted from Chief Superintendents of Corps to Assistant Commandants.
