President Bola Tinubu has revealed the top priorities of the recently signed N28.7 trillion 2024 national budget.
DAILY POST reports that the President signed the 2024 budget into law on Monday, barely 48 hours after the National Assembly passed the appropriation bill.
Speaking during the budget signing ceremony in Aso Rock Villa, Tinubu, according to a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, identified defence and internal security, job creation, macroeconomic stability, an improved investment environment, human capital development, poverty reduction, and social security as priorities.
Some critical estimates of the appropriation bill are capital expenditure, N10 trillion; recurrent expenditure, N8.8 trillion; debt service, N8.2 trillion; and statutory transfers, N1.7 trillion.
“All MDAs have been directed to take responsibility and provide monthly budget performance reports to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, which in turn shall ensure the veracity of such,” he stated.
