Frank Onyeka is looking forward to making his second Africa Cup of Nations appearance with the Super Eagles.
Onyeka is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Brentford midfielder made his maiden AFCON appearance in Cameroon in 2021.
That sojourn ended in the Round of 16 following the Super Eagles 1-0 loss to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
The 25-year-old is keen to take part in the competition again.
“I’ll always want to represent my country on the big stage. It’s an honour to wear the green and white shirt, so it’s something that I have to do,” he told BBC Sport Africa.
“I was a boy playing in the streets of Nigeria and now I’m representing the Super Eagles at AFCON.
“It is a dream come true, because after watching Afcon legends in past years, now you’re going to be part of the team. I’m looking forward to it so much.”
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are drawn in Group A where they will take on hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
