The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, Dr Michael Adaralewa, on Thursday said the outfit is now better equipped than ever to tackle security challenges in the state.
Adaralewa stated this at the decoration of 801 newly promoted officers and men of the Command at its Headquarters in Agodi, Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that among the promoted personnel were nine Deputy Commandants of Corps (DCC), 26 Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC), and 37 Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC).
Others are 137 Superintendents of Corps (SC), 180 Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC), 324 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASC I) and Assistant Superintendents of Corps II ( ASC II).
The commandant said that the Command now has a stronger, more experienced and motivated workforce ready to tackle the security challenges confronting Oyo State.
“We are confident that with this renewed vigour, we will continue to be a pillar of strength and stability in Oyo State.
“These promotions are not mere titles or badges, they represent a renewed sense of purpose and motivation for our officers.
“They are recognition of their expertise, experience, their unwavering dedication to service and a powerful symbol of NSCDC’s commitment to growth, professionalism and excellence,” he said.
Adaralewa appreciated the Minister of Interior and NSCDC Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Audi for their support and commitment in addressing the issue of stagnation and ensuring all eligible personnel are promoted to boost their morale and productivity of the workforce.
