Gov Kefas dissociates self from alleged plot to rig Taraba LG elections

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has said he has no plans to muscle out the opposition political parties during the forthcoming local government election in the state.

He made the announcement on Tuesday while reacting to the allegations that his administration is scheming to compromise the forthcoming local government elections.

Speaking through his Special Adviser Media and Digital Communications, Emmanuel Bello, via a statement made available to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital, the governor urged the public to disregard the allegations.

He said the “APC is reeling from a serious bout of Post Defeat Trauma Syndrome (PDTS).”

“When APC is not complaining about a private dinner held in Abuja, it is speaking on the internal programs of the PDP. This is certainly not how to hold the government to account or play opposition”.

He said a level playing ground will be made available to all candidates irrespective of political party affiliations.

“If anyone fails in the coming election, it would be for the same reason they failed before, lack of planning and deep-seated internal crisis,” he said.

“APC, failing to endear itself to the people and feeling the heat from its failure to prepare and put her house in order, is already scared of an imminent defeat in the coming polls.”

The governor, who said he is a democrat, admonished the APC to concentrate on its internal crisis and leave the first family out of its troubles.
