Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah will be with the squad until January 7, 2024, before he joins Egypt’s national team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to The Mail’s Lewis Steele, Salah will join Egypt’s squad after Liverpool play their Premier League game against Newcastle United on New Year’s Day.
This means Salah will miss a handful of games for the Reds, whose fixture schedule gets murkier from next month.
Salah could miss up to eight matches, including both their games against Arsenal in the FA Cup in January and in the league on February 4, if Egypt go far in the AFCON competition.
Egypt is set to participate in the AFCON in Ivory Coast.
The Pharaohs’ head coach, Rui Vitoria, has already named his provisional squad.
