Kwara United forward Sadeeq Yusuf has apologised to his teammates after he was sent off in the club’s matchday 15 encounter against Plateau United.
Yusuf received a second yellow card for pulling off his shirt after scoring the winning goal in the 2-1 victory at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin.
The striker will miss Kwara United’s clash with Kano Pillars on Thursday.
He, however, described the goal as priceless.
“I honestly forgot that I was already on a yellow card, so when I scored the second goal, which turned out to be the winning goal, I was so happy that I didn’t remember when I pulled off my shirt in celebration,” he told NPFL troll.
“It cost the team red card and I have to apologise to my teammate and coach, as professional players we should be able to control ourselves but once in a while the feeling is priceless especially when the fans start screaming.”
