Unidentified gunmen kill medical doctor, abduct daughter in Kwara

Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be assassins, on Thursday, brutally murdered Dr. David Adefikayo, the Medical Director of Dafikayo Clinic, in his residence in Kanbi, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The assailants, whose motives remain unclear, according to information, gained entry into Dr. Adefikayo’s home around 8:30pm, and despite the doctor’s desperate pleas and offers of money or any other possessions they might wish to take, the gunmen executed him in the presence of his horrified wife and children.

The gunmen added to the family’s anguish, as they also abducted the youngest daughter of the deceased, a 16-year-old girl, before fleeing the scene.

The current whereabouts of the abducted girl and the identities of the murderers remain unknown.

A close family source, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the horrifying incident, expressing their shock and grief.

The community is also reeling from the incident, as Dr. Adefikayo was a respected figure who contributed significantly to local healthcare.

The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi could not be reached at the time of the report.
