Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has ranted about midfielder Romeo Lavia’s lack of playing time at the west London club.
Pochettino admitted that he is ‘disappointed and annoyed’ over the situation.
Chelsea splashed out £58 million to sign Lavia from Southampton last summer.
But the Belgium international is still waiting to make his Chelsea debut amid injury problems and strong competition in that area of the pitch.
The 19-year-old is back in training and is in contention to play for Pochettino’s side against Wolves on Sunday.
“Lavia is the same as [Christopher] Nkunku,” Pochettino said at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
The Blues boss said: “After nearly six months, maybe he will be involved with the team. He is doing well, but he still needs time to be in his best form. All of the players, after a long period, are desperate to be involved.
“Maybe I am talking too much, but come on, it is annoying me. Not you. People around the player, or the player. I am disappointed. The club is disappointed; it is investing big to perform and score goals, pay the salary every month if you are injured or not performing.”
