Akwa United management has accepted the resignation of head coach Fatai Osho.
Chairman of the club, Paul Bassey said replacing the former coach will not be easy.
Bassey, however, expressed appreciation to coaches who are willing to take over the vacant post.
“Coach Osho is a victim of worldwide football tradition where coaches, no matter how good, pay the price for a poor run of their teams,” he told the club’s media.
“He is a good coach and he remains one of the best in the land, unfortunately, it did not work for him at Akwa United.
“Osho came to a club that in the past eight years boasts a tradition of excellence, hence the misgivings of our supporters worldwide. He is a victim of Akwa United’s success. We wish him well going forward.”
DAILY POST recalled that Fatai Osho tendered his resignation letter after Akwa United’s 1-0 loss against Heartland in Owerri last weekend.
Akwa United recorded just three wins in 14 games under his tutelage.
The Promise Keepers currently occupy 17th position on the log.
The Uyo club will host Sunshine Stars in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 15 encounter in Eket on Thursday (today).
