Gov Fubara signs N800bn 2024 Appropriation Bill into law

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State signed the N800 billion 2024 Appropriation Bill into law on Thursday.

This is coming a day after Governor Fubara presented the Appropriation Bill to the House of Assembly led by Edison Ehie, which was also approved.

The signing ceremony took place in the conference room of the Governor’s Office at the Government House, marking a pivotal moment for the state’s financial roadmap for the upcoming year.

During the ceremony, Governor Fubara underscored the commitment of his administration to prioritise infrastructural development and enhance the state’s overall socio-economic landscape.

He highlighted that the commencement of the second phase of the Transkalabari Road stands as a prominent feature within the budget, noting his administration’s focus on critical projects that will positively impact the state’s infrastructure.

Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, some members of the State Executive Council, some chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in local government areas, and some other supporters of the governor.

The budget is tagged “Budget of Renewed Hope, Consolidation, and Continuity.”
