Corruption: NCoS warns officers against compromise

The Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, NCoS, Mr Haliru Nababa, has warned officers and men of the agency against compromising their duties.

Nababa issued the warning on Thursday at a one-day lecture to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day 2023, in Abuja.

The event was organised by the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, (ACTU), a unit of the NCoS, in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Matters Commission, ICPC, to mark the 2023 International Anti-corruption Day.

The NCoS boss warned that anyone found culpable would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

According to him, Nigerian leaders had recently prioritized the anti-corruption campaign in their policy directions, signaling the level of damage corrupt practices had visited on the country.

He added that the position was further emphasized by Nigeria’s current rating in the global corruption perception index.

“It is on the strength of the above, that the NCoS has keyed into this firm anti-corruption posture of the Federal Government in actualizing its statutory mandate,” he said.
