EPL: Pochettino identifies one major area Chelsea must improve after latest defeat

Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino has identified one major area his team need to improve following their 2-0 defeat against Everton in Sunday’s Premier League tie at Goodison Park.

DAILY POST reports that goals from Lewis Dobbin and Abdoulaye Doucoure ensured Everton defeated the Blues at home.

Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, Pochettino said Chelsea need to improve their ‘reality’.

The Argentine added that the side need to change its mentality.

When asked what his team lacked against Everton, the former Tottenham Hotspur coach said: “I think it is one thing, before we talk about performance or system or everything, little by little to change the mentality, to fight expectation and reality.

“Chelsea’s expectation is massive, to win the Premier League and after is the reality. The team is still fighting different circumstances. Sometimes it is good, reality check, we need to fight, not because we are Chelsea we are going to win, not because we are Chelsea we play well, that is our reality.

“When the transfer window opens, we will see what we can do. I will not say if I ask for more players or less players but it is to see if the perception matches the reality. Maybe we need to improve our reality.”
