Tinubu: Northern youths give ACF 7 days to lift suspension on chairman, Osuman

Northern youths, under the auspices of the Northern Youth Assembly, have given the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), seven days to lift the suspension on its Chairman, Mamman Mike Osuman, SAN.

The youth group expressed dismay and outrage over Osuman’s suspension, warning that it would occupy the ACF’s secretariat if he was not restored to his position.

According to the Assembly, Osuman’s suspension was a result of his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s anti-people policies that led to widespread hardship in the country.

The Northern Youth Assembly, which represents youths in the 19 Northern states, viewed the suspension as a shameful act that indicates ACF’s lack of concern for the masses.

The Assembly believes that ACF’s action was aimed at pleasing Tinubu, despite his administration’s persecution of the people of Northern Nigeria.

In a statement released on Monday issued by its National President, Ali Mohammed Idris, the group condemned ACF’s decision, describing it as “incivility and undemocratic action”.

The statement also criticized ACF’s failure to achieve tangible results in supporting the development of Northern Nigeria, despite being established 24 years ago.

“The Northern Youth Assembly has given ACF an ultimatum of seven days to lift the suspension of Mr. Osuman and restore his powers and honor.

“Failure to comply will lead to the Assembly mobilizing youths from the nineteen Northern States to take over the ACF secretariat in Kaduna.”

The Assembly also opined that Nigerians deserve better than what they are getting under Tinubu’s administration, lamenting that the administration has pushed millions of Nigerians into poverty.

The group hinted at the possibility of launching a regional campaign to support the emergence of a new capable leader from Northern Nigeria in 2027.
