Kaduna surpasses 90 per cent MPHDA target – Deputy governor

The Kaduna State Government has surpassed the 90 percent target of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), the state deputy governor, Hadiza Balarebe, has disclosed.

Speaking during a retreat with the newly elected LGA chairmen of the state, Balarebe explained that the 98 percent scorecard of Kaduna reflects the Uba Sani-led government’s resolve to improve primary healthcare in the state.

According to her, in 2015, the state ranked 15th among the 36 states, with 55 percent performance, urging the LGA heads not to drop the ball, as many women still give birth in the hands of unskilled attendants.

The deputy governor explained, “While we still fall short of achieving full immunization coverage across the state, among other challenges, as local government chairmen, you are at the front line of this battle for the wellbeing of our people. You are not just administrators; you are the guardians of your communities’ futures.”

She said every child vaccinated is a future secured, every mother receiving proper antenatal care is a family protected, adding that every healthcare facility improved is a community strengthened.

Balarebe stated that their actions should demonstrate that in the state, they value every life, advocate for every child’s potential, and uphold every mother’s right to safe childbirth.

She added that the administration of Senator Uba Sani stands ready to support the populace in that mission, stressing that their commitment to rural transformation remains unwavering.

She reminded them that the true measure of their success would not only be found in the infrastructure they build or the equipment they procure, but also in the lives they save, the communities they uplift, and the future they secure.
