Gov Okpebholo nominates UBA Regional Manager as commissioner

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has nominated Emmanuel Ehidiamen Okoebor, the Regional Manager of the United Bank of Africa, UBA, as Commissioner for Finance-designate.

The governor also appointed Friday Ibadin, a retired Commissioner of Police, as the Corps Commander of the Edo State Security Corps Governance. Also appointed by Okpebholo were Stainless M.I. Ijeghede as the Managing Director of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency, EDSTMA, and Dr Lucky Eseigbe as Managing Director, Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency.

The nomination of the Commissioner for Finance-designate and other appointees was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor.

According to him, Okoebor, who has over 25 years of experience in the banking sector, including roles at the Standard Trust and UBA, was until his nomination the regional manager of UBA, overseeing 15 business offices.

Okoebor, who had his first degree in Civil Engineering and master’s in Business Administration, both from the University of Benin, is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered member of COREN.

Ibadin, a former Commissioner of Police, retired from the Nigeria Police after a meritorious 35 years of service. He has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Law, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007.

Stainless Ijeghede, the new Managing Director, of Edo State Traffic Management Agency, (EDSTMA), holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and had a successful career in the petroleum industry, having worked and held sensitive positions, particularly in the Well Engineering and Safety Department at Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Ltd.

Dr Lucky Eseigbe, the new Managing Director of the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency, obtained his LLB and LLM at Ambrose Alli University. Until his appointment, he has been a legislative aide to notable members of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2007 to November 2024.

Ikhilor said all the appointments are with immediate effect.
