Customs hand over 665 seized donkey skins, 450 blocs of Indian hemp

The Nigeria Customs Service, NSC, Kano Area Command, on Thursday handed over 665 donkey skins to Dr Adamu Gano, the North-West Coordinator of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Services.

The NCS also sent 450 blocks of compressed Indian hemp to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, commander and 1,290 cartons of unlicensed medicinal items to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, state coordinator.

The event, which took place at the Customs House in Bompai, was in line with the organizations’ coordinated efforts to combat unlawful activities and protect public health.

Mr Dauda Chana, Comptroller of Customs, Kano State Command, remarked at the event that the joint efforts had continued to bear fruit.

“The successful coordination and cooperation between our organization and our esteemed partner agencies exemplify our shared dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all citizens.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to eradicating illegal activities that pose a threat to our society,” Chana said.

Representatives from many organizations who spoke at the event called for continued inter-agency cooperation in solving the current challenges.
