President Joe Biden of the United States, US, is scheduled to address America on Thursday.
Biden vowed a peaceful transfer of power to Donald Trump after his historical election win over Kamala Harris.
Biden is expected to address Americans at the Rose Garden of the White House.
The White House said the president will “discuss the election results and the transition” to his successor, Donald Trump.
The White House also said the president spoke with Trump on Wednesday and “expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together.”
During the call, Biden invited Trump for a meeting at the White House, despite their long history of bitter animosity.
Trump campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung said Trump “looks forward to the meeting, which will take place shortly, and very much appreciated the call.”
