Terrorist leaders in North Central begging to surrender – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has revealed that some terrorist leaders operating in the North Central zone have indicated interest to surrender and lay down their arms.

This was made known on Thursday by Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism and insurgency expert, in a post on his X handle, citing a statement by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations.

Buba, while briefing newsmen in Abuja, said the military had opened its corridors to those who had expressed interest in surrendering.

According to him, the terrorists know that they cannot match the military strength.

“The options open to them is to surrender or be killed on the battlefield.

“Accordingly, some terrorist leaders, commanders and combatants have indicated surrender.

“We are opening a surrendering corridor for that purpose,” he said.
