EPL: I’m impressed with his effort – Guardiola singles out Man City star after Bournemouth defeat

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has said that he was impressed with the effort of defender Nathan Ake following his side’s Premier League 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Recall that Guardiola watched as Bournemouth defeated Man City at the Vitality Stadium.

Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring for Bournemouth, before Evanilson prodded in the second goal for the hosts.

Although Josko Gvardiol pulled one back for Guardiola’s side late in the encounter.

Speaking at his post-match interview, Guardiola said: “I’m really pleased for the incredible effort from Nathan [Ake], I asked him this morning and I asked him.

“He said he wanted to try. He’s struggled this season with problems in his feet.”

He added, “Kyle [Walker], 16 days didn’t train with us until yesterday. “Manu [Akanji] couldn’t play against Spurs and made an effort today.”
