Cross River Government has declared Thursday and Friday as public holidays to enable voters in the state to participate fully in the council elections scheduled for Saturday, November 1.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Nsa Gill, made this disclosure in a statement on Wednesday in Calabar.
Gill said the decision was to give ample opportunity to those who have to travel outside Calabar to various parts of the state to exercise their civic duties.
He, therefore, called on the residents, especially voters, to take advantage of the two-day holidays to engage in the electoral processes and make their voices heard.
