Adamawa approves N8.5bn for 2 bridges, solar electricity in 6 hospitals

The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved the award of contracts for the construction of two bridges and the installation of solar-powered electricity in six cottage hospitals.

The council, at its meeting on Wednesday, approved the construction of a 12-span bridge with an approach road in Shuwa and a four-span bridge with an approach road in Hyambula, Madagali Local Government Area.

The two bridge projects are valued at a total cost of N8,181,234,792.01.

The projects, awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited, are expected to be completed within six months.

Adamawa State Commissioner of Information and Strategy James Iliya, who briefed journalists after the council meeting, explained that the project is divided into two lots.

“Lot one consists of the construction of Shuwa 12-span bridge with approach at the cost of N5,650,731,482.50, while the second lot is the construction of a 4-span bridge and approach road in Hyambula, Madagali Local Government Area, at the cost of N2,530,503,309.60,” the commissioner explained.

He said the council approved the award of a contract for the supply and installation of 30 KVA hybrid solar systems in six cottage hospitals in the state.

The solar power project, valued at N431,662,541.94, was awarded to Blue Camel Energy and is expected to be completed within two months.

The cottage hospitals to get solar power are located in Shelleng, Guyuk, Demsa, Lamurde, Gombi, and Furore local government areas.
