Taraba taskforce committee urges hunters to support security efforts

The Taraba State Special Task Force Committee on Environmental Protection, Public Safety, and Prohibition of Deforestation has urged hunters in the state to collaborate with security agencies to strengthen security measures in Taraba.

Speaking during a meeting with the Hunters Association of Garba Ched, in Bali local government council, at the weekend, the task force, through its chairman, retired General Jeremiah Faransa, highlighted the need for increased vigilance in the area and the state at large.

Faransa raised the concerns during his routine patrol, aimed at curbing illegal deforestation and mining activities in the state and called on local hunters to demonstrate honesty and dedication in their duties.

Faransa stressed that criminal activities pose a serious threat to the lives and property of residents across the state’s 16 local government areas.

“Lives and properties of the people of the state have really been threatened by criminal elements across the 16 local government councils.

I am calling on all our hunters to work in synergy with the security agencies in the state for sustainable security measures.”

He reiterated his commitment to boosting the state’s revenue and warned against any form of illegality in revenue generation.

The retired general also reminded the public that the executive order suspending mining activities remains in effect.
