Arokodare not willing to give up on Super Eagles chance

KRC Genk forward, Tolu Arokodare, has claimed he must work harder to get recognised at the international level.

Arokodare has scored seven goals in 11 league appearances for the Smurfs this season.

Despite his impressive form for the Belgian Pro League side, the 23-year-old has been snubbed by the national team selectors.

The forward however declared that he will continue working hard to earn a call-up to the Super Eagles.

“For the national team, I know that I have to play in a major competition in the long term. If a Nigerian striker scores three times in the Premier League or the Bundesliga, I know that I have to score at least eight times to have a chance of being called up,” he told De Standard.

“It would be great to wear the shirt of my country. If the national coach does not call me up, I still have a club to focus on.”
