The Reds had dropped into second place after Manchester City came from behind to win 2-1 at Wolves earlier in the day.
Mohamed Salah opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Curtis Jones was tripped inside the box.
Three minutes after the restart, Nicolas Jackson calmly slotted home Moises Caicedo’s through-ball to make it 1-1.
Salah was instrumental in the winning goal, setting up Jones to prod the ball past Robert Sanchez.
Arne Slot’s men now have 21 points from eight fixtures.
